DJI AP100 Parachute

The DJI AP100 Parachute is a parachute system designed for the DJI Matrice 400 that helps increase safety in professional operations. With automatic or manual deployment, independent power supply and rapid response to flight anomalies, it reduces the drone’s descent speed in emergency situations and helps protect the aircraft, the payload and the surrounding environment.

    DJI AP100 Parachute

The DJI AP100 Parachute is a safety system specifically designed for the DJI Matrice 400. Its function is to reduce the aircraft’s descent speed in the event of an emergency, helping to minimise risks to the drone, the installed payloads and the environment beneath the operation.

This parachute features independent power supply, full link redundancy and an activation system that can be triggered both manually and automatically. If anomalies are detected in the aircraft’s attitude or flight speed, the DJI AP100 can deploy automatically with a response time of up to 600 ms, helping to stabilise the descent of the Matrice 400 at a speed equal to or below 5 m/s, provided that the operating conditions specified by the manufacturer are met.

The system integrates advanced self-check functions, continuously monitoring the status of the gas generator and communication links. It also incorporates an independent FTS system that stops the rotors before parachute deployment, reducing the risk of interference during opening.

Designed for demanding professional operations, the DJI AP100 Parachute maintains a compact and robust design, with an approximate weight of 935 g, IP55 protection and operation in temperatures from -20 °C to 50 °C. It also features audible and visual alarms after deployment, making it easier to locate the equipment and warning nearby people. In combination with the DJI Matrice 400, the DJI AP100 Parachute helps meet certain operational safety requirements associated with European and UK standards, such as EASA C5/C6 and CAA UK5/UK6, depending on the configuration and type of operation. It is a solution especially suitable for operators who need to reinforce safety in professional flights, inspections, emergency response, technical work or missions in complex environments.
