RM 1200 D
The RM 1200 D from Vogel & Plötscher is a stationary rail corrugation measurement system designed to inspect the longitudinal rail profile and welded joints following welding, grinding or milling work. Approved by Deutsche Bahn and compliant with DB Ril 824.8310:2017 and EN 13231-2:2020, it provides a resolution of 0.01 mm over a measurement length of 1,200 mm. It is independent of the track gauge and supports data export in CSV format.

RM 1200 D: precise inspection of the longitudinal rail profile
Wherever rails are welded, ground or milled, it is essential to verify that the resulting profile complies with the applicable standards. The RM 1200 D rail corrugation measurement system from Vogel & Plötscher checks the longitudinal rail profile and welded joints in accordance with current regulations, with the reliability of equipment approved by Deutsche Bahn (DB).
Fast measurement in compliance with applicable standards
The RM 1200 D is ready for immediate use on the track and completes each measurement within a few seconds. It detects rail corrugations and waves with a resolution of 0.01 mm over a measurement length of 1,200 mm, with a measurement interval of 2 mm. The data can be exported in CSV format for further processing. For analysis in accordance with the DB Ril 824.8310:2017 directive or the DIN EN 13231-2:2020 standard, the original RMFcatcher software upgrade is recommended, as it integrates measurement data analysis directly into the workflow.
Flexible use on any track gauge
The measuring system is independent of the track gauge. Its adjustable positioning on the rail by means of the support arm allows it to be used on tracks with different gauges, a key advantage on networks combining Iberian, standard and metre gauges. Two stop pins allow the required measuring line to be adjusted to the gauge face offset before each measurement: 18, 23, 33 and 48 mm on Vignole rails, and 18, 23 and 33 mm on grooved rails when using the specific installation kit.
Robust design for daily work on the track
With approximate dimensions of 1,500 x 180 x 180 mm and a weight of 11 kg, the RM 1200 D combines robustness with ease of handling. As an option, it can be equipped with wheels to facilitate movement along the track between measurement points.
