RMF 1100

The RMF 1100 from Vogel & Plötscher is an approved longitudinal rail profile measurement system designed for the inspection and acceptance of reprofiling work, such as rail grinding or milling. Measurements are carried out continuously and simultaneously on both rails, with a resolution of 0.5 µm and real-time data display. Approved by Deutsche Bahn and compliant with DB 824.8310:2017 and EN 13231-2:2020.

RMF 1100: mobile measurement of rail corrugations

Following rail grinding or milling, the acceptance of the work requires objective data that complies with the applicable standards. The RMF 1100 mobile rail corrugation measurement system from Vogel & Plötscher is an approved instrument for inspecting and accepting rail reprofiling work in accordance with the applicable regulations. Measurements are carried out continuously and simultaneously on the left and right rails, reducing inspection time by half compared with single-rail systems.

The RMF measuring principle: an international reference

Data acquisition is based on the RMF measuring principle, which has been tested and internationally recognised for decades. Special contact probes record the primary profile of the rail surface at 2 mm intervals. This primary profile provides an objective and verifiable basis for evaluating the longitudinal rail profile. The raw data is captured digitally and displayed in real time on the MPC rugged outdoor laptop.

    Professional evaluation with RMviewer

The optional RMviewer evaluation software enables professional data processing, including graphical analysis and the generation of measurement reports according to different evaluation criteria. Customer-specific reports and evaluations can be integrated into the software on request, making it possible to adapt the documentation to the requirements of each infrastructure manager.

Approved by Deutsche Bahn and adaptable to other track gauges

The RMF 1100 is approved by Deutsche Bahn (DB), and its measuring system complies with the DB 824.8310:2017 directive and the EN 13231-2:2020 standard. The equipment is insulated and adjustable for metre gauge tracks (1,000 mm), with other track gauges available on request, including Iberian gauge. The folding wheels make it easier to move the system along the track between measurement sections, with an operating speed equivalent to walking pace, from 2 to 5 km/h.
